Simon Bruce


Simon Bruce is a co-founder of Cavendish Medical and has been providing retirement advice to senior hospital consultants for over ten years. He is highly skilled at providing solutions to clients’ complex retirement issues including the management of pensions and investments.

Simon studied European politics and political science at the University of Leeds and in his spare time enjoys fly-fishing and gardening.

Dr Mark Martin


A former anaesthetist at St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington (now part of Imperial College), Dr Mark Martin set up Cavendish Medical Ltd in 2005.

Unable to find his own financial adviser who understood the intricacies of the NHS scheme, Mark realised he could do a better job. He spent one year on sabbatical working in the City and never returned to clinical practice. After working in finance for 17 years including time spent at Citibank, Allianz and Lincoln, Mark co-founded Cavendish and specialises in pensions advice.

He is a competitive tennis player and enjoys football and skiing.

Patrick Convey


Patrick joined Cavendish Medical at its inception in 2005 after studying financial economics at Kingston University. He is an expert at solving challenging pension issues for clients and understanding ever-changing government legislation.

As well as supporting a well-known London football team, Patrick enjoys cycling and has competed in many charity fundraising races.

Dr Benjamin Holdsworth


Dr Benjamin Holdsworth – As well as a qualified adviser, Ben is also a practising medic. As such, he has a genuine understanding of the realities that every medical professional must face. He can advise clients on key financial matters at every stage of their careers, having first-hand knowledge of the complex personal finances of those working in the NHS and private practice.

In his spare time, Ben likes to keep fit and has completed several marathons and endurance cycle events. He also likes to go skiing whenever he gets the chance.

Hugh Davies


Hugh joined Cavendish in 2009 having worked previously as a private banker for UBS and specialising in investment advice for AWD Chase de Vere. He has many years’ experience advising high-net-worth clients on all areas of their finances, and has made several appearances on television as a financial planning commentator.

He enjoys outdoor pursuits including climbing, mountaineering, kayaking and ultra marathon running.

Guy Beck


Guy joined Cavendish in its first year of trading. He has an excellent understanding of the complexities and intricacies of the NHS pension scheme as well as extensive experience in providing retirement planning solutions to senior medical consultants and their families.

Guy has a degree in business management and is very competitive at cycling, skiing, football and distance running.

Elliot Lund


Elliot has worked at Cavendish for over six years, working closely with colleagues Patrick Convey and Dr Mark Martin. He heads our Investment Committee together with director Edward Bushnell, establishing a sound framework for the firm’s investment policy.

Elliot is adept at solving complex NHS issues for our clients while planning strategies to meet their financial objectives.

He also enjoys travel and caring for his dog, Gus who often visits the office.

Paul Barker


Paul joined Cavendish in 2015. He first gained an interest in financial services when completing his MSc in International Finance at the University of Kent.

Working closely with CEO Simon Bruce, Paul enjoys meeting clients and enjoys problem solving and analysing clients’ financial situations.

In his free time, Paul frequents the gym regularly and is an avid reader.

David Murphy


David joined Cavendish following his economics degree at Loughborough University. He works closely with technical director Patrick Convey and provides financial advice to new and existing clients. David particularly enjoys building relationships with clients and helping them to overcome complex challenges to achieve their financial goals.

David is a keen traveller having already visited over 50 countries. He aims to reach 100 in retirement.

Joffrey Denning


After training and working as a mortgage consultant, Joffrey’s career led him into administration. For the last 15 years, he has acquired considerable experience of working in the financial services industry and has developed a passion and expertise in financial administration.

He is committed to ensuring that Cavendish clients receive a first-rate service and his team is on-hand to offer support and help with any enquiry.

He has a passion for travelling. He enjoys skiing and is also a keen runner and has completed two marathons.
